We are an affiliated dojo of Aikido Association of America (AAA), under the direction of Fumio Toyoda Shihan. The organization has over 130 member dojos in the United States and an additional 30 dojos spread across 8 other countries. Though we are affiliated with AAA, our dojo’s foundation lay in the Yoshinkan style, developed by the late Foza Shioda.
The chief instructor in Broomall, Mark Dorfman, (3rd Dan) trained in the Yoshinkan system from 1980 through 1998, before joining Toyoda Shihan’s Organization. |

Aikido is a Japanese Martial Art that utilizes the force of the attacker to be used against him/her. Through combinations of body movement & developed knowledge of joint locks & pressure points, anyone can learn how to humble even the largest opponent. We practice how to move in such a way as to make our attacker become off balance resulting in techniques that are easy to apply. Since Aikido involves either pinning or throwing an attacker, learning to fall safely is key; a benefit that extends far beyond the limits of the classroom. |
