American Karate Studios is the place to learn practical
self-defense and get into great shape... but the truth is it's so much more. Did you know that our students experience serious, life-changing benefits beyond physical fitness when they train with us? Most of them are not prepared for the soul-filling, heartwarming effects of our classes and how they change a person's whole outlook on life.
Our Little Dragons Program was developed specifically for preschool-age children 3-6 years old. Our martial arts classes for kids are designed with the following goals in mind:
Developing life success skills. This includes the ability to focus, set goals, understand application, reward concepts, and other building blocks needed to set patterns for success in future aspirations.
Teaching of character qualities. Some of these are courtesy, confidence, respect, self-control, integrity, self-esteem, perseverance, dedication, and honor for oneself and others.
Self-defense and safety awareness skills.
Development of basic motor skills
Creating a foundation of fitness and practical self-defense.. American Kenpo karate tones and develops the the whole body, including the heart. Kenpo karate movements also increase coordination and flexibility. Which aides in injury prevention and boost in the immune-system

Can't say enough good things about the studio. Marc is especially amazing with the kids but everyone is fantastic. Just started tumbling as well and my son loves it. Miss Lisa is patient and makes the class fun. There is no other place to take your children to then AKS!
Marc and Jimmy are fantastic with the kids! My son is 5 years old and has become much more attentive and disciplined in only 6 weeks of lessons. He loves going to karate and constantly talks about learning more kicks and punches to get his next stripe/belt. Thanks Marc!
